We prefer to be involved in every step of the construction process, from planning to completion: ensuring that your home is exactly as intended, and that the experience is smooth, joyful and exciting.

Our Process

  • All of our projects begin with an initial meeting to get to know one another and understand your project and your expectations – ensuring a good fit exists between homeowner and contractor – and also that we’re the right company to accomplish your desired outcome. Many prospective clients find us through a personal referral; when this is not the case, we are very happy to provide references from previous projects for you to directly connect with.

  • A well-executed project – that is on budget and schedule – requires designs, a well-vetted plan, and an accurate cost estimate. We put a major emphasis on the planning that comes before embarking on any project as this stage has the greatest impact of any on both outcome and execution.

For smaller projects, it is often both cost prohibitive and unnecessary to engage an architect. In these cases, design is handled in-house; An ideation session with approximate costs in mind are followed by several schematic design variations in CAD, with floor plans, perspective views, and a 3D (CAD) model provided to the client. After a design direction is selected – along with feedback and changes – detailed floor plans, perspective views, and the updated 3D (CAD) model are provided for finalization and approval.

On large renovations, additions, and new construction, we're happy to recommend a reputable architect with a portfolio that meets your design aesthetic. In the event that you’ve already selected an architect, we believe there is immense value in getting a General Contractor involved as early as possible. We will price check the project at multiple stages and work with your architect to provide feedback on the design before drawings are finalized.

Once designs are finalized, we work with a network of local subcontractors and vendors to generate a detailed plan/scope of work and accurate cost estimate for construction.

  • There are a multitude of details that need close attention throughout the construction process, so clear, two-way communication between General Contractor, homeowner, and architect (if applicable) is imperative. Deviations from the pre-construction planning is inevitable, but any adjustments to design outcomes and/or estimated costs will be clearly communicated for approval by homeowner.

Bi-weekly site meetings between stakeholders allow for progress reviews and for decisions to be made collaboratively. We have worked with clients that live primarily in Vermont and those that live out-of-state with limited ability to visit regularly. If you're not available to meet locally we will meet virtually and ensure that you feel just as connected.

Our subcontractors and vendors represent some of the best in the region and understand the high level of quality and professionalism that we expect. Our job sites are professional and organized; a tidy job site provides working conditions that are appreciated by all who work there, and for homeowners.

  • We stand by the execution, quality and craftsmanship of our work but in the event something needs to be addressed after construction has completed, we will return and make sure that it is taken care of. We take pride in the spaces that we create, but equally important is our ongoing relationship with those that inhabit them.
